Yong Ding

From May 2010 to September 2011 I worked on the DFG funded SenseCast Projekt. The aim of the project is to develop new methods for context prediction in wireless sensor networks (WSN) and to utilise these for dynamic adaptation and optimisation of network behaviour. Currently I am working on the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) funded Software Campus project, with which I can push my PhD topic forwards through managing my own micro research project. My research topic in this project is VDAR - Distributed Autonomic Control Systems for Decentralized Energy Markets, which proposes hybrid approaches with distributed control loops to realize a real-time controlled energy market model through interacting with physical power systems.

My research focuses on context recognition and prediction in distributed systems and their resultant feedback control. Especially I'm working on the combination of machine learning techniques and automatic control concepts. On the application side, my major focus will be put on the theme Smart Grid and Smart City.
